The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Citizens Academy September 1 thru October 6. This one night per week class will expose citizens to how the Sheriff’s Office operates from the initial call for service all the way to how civil paperwork is handled. Attendees will get to see K-9 and RPSO SWAT demonstrations and see some of the equipment that is used in search and rescue operations as well as an overview of what the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement Unit does to combat narcotics trafficking in Rapides Parish.
